Durante questi due giorni di pratica intensiva, realizzeremo un servizio da tè (una teiera e un set di tazze) utilizzando varie tecniche di costruzione a mano (pizzicato, colombino, lastra). Una grande opportunità sia per principianti che per esperti della ceramica di scoprire il grès nero in un’atmosfera amichevole e rilassata.
A condurci in questo viaggio fatto di argilla nera ci sarà Violaine Toth, artista della ceramica queer residente a Berlino. Lavora principalmente con grès nero e smalti minimalisti. Violaine sperimenta applicazioni di tipo scultoreo in collezioni ispirate alla cultura alternativa berlinese, al neo-futurismo e all'Art Nouveau. Negli ultimi 5 anni collabora con diversi creativi come tatuatori, falegnami, musicisti e illustratori, e insegna la tecnica del tornio nel suo studio di ceramica a Berlino.
Programma
Giorno 1 - sabato 23/09/2023
- 10:00-13:00 → presentazione del workshop e realizzazione delle tazze con diverse tecniche di costruzione a mano (pizzicato, colombino, lastra)
- 14:00-17:00 → modellazione del corpo della teiera e del coperchio
Giorno 2 - domenica 24/09/2023
- 10:00-13:00 → completamento delle tazze (manici, ecc.)
- 14:00-17:00 → assemblaggio del beccuccio e dei manici della teiera, eventuale realizzazione di un vassoio
Per la pausa pranzo suggeriamo un pranzo al sacco.
Il workshop sarà condotto da Violaine Toth ed ospitato nel laboratorio Studio Delta Pottery a Torino in Via Rocciamelone 16/a.
Il workshop si terrà completamente in lingua inglese.
In caso ci sia la necessità sarà possibile confrontarsi con una persona predisposta alla traduzione in italiano.
Affinché la prenotazione vada a buon fine è necessario acquistare il corso.
Il workshop necessita di almeno 6 partecipanti per essere attivato.
Qualora non si raggiungesse tale numero entro la data del termine delle iscrizioni il 31 Agosto, il workshop sarà cancellato e la quota d'iscrizione sarà totalmente restituita.

Spedizione non inclusa.
Anna di Studio Delta si occuperà di cuocere e smaltare con cristallina trasparente i pezzi prodotti durante il workshop.
È possibile prenotare un'ulteriore lezione di smaltatura con Anna per imparare l'applicazione dello smalto. Questa lezione ha un costo extra e sarà calcolabile in base al numero di pezzi prodotti durante il workshop.
I pezzi saranno consegnati entro all'incirca un mese.
BLACK TEASET WORKSHOP
September 23rd and 24th, 2023
During these two days of intensive training, we will make a tea set (a teapot and a set of cups) using several handbuilding techniques. The opportunity for beginners and advanced ceramic lovers to discover black stoneware mainly but also other clay colors (white, beige, etc.) in the friendly atmosphere of a group of 6 to 10 people.
To lead us on this journey made of black clay will be Berlin-based queer ceramic artist Violaine Toth. Their mainly work is made out of black stoneware and minimalist glazes. Violaine experiments with sculptural applications in collections inspired by Berlin's alternative culture, neo-futurism and Art Nouveau. In the last 5 years she has collaborated with various creatives such as tattoo artists, carpenters, musicians and illustrators, and teaches the technique of the pottery wheel in her ceramic studio in Berlin.
Program
Day 1 - Saturday, 23rd September
- 10am-1pm: Presentation of the workshop / making of cups with several handbuilding techniques
- 2pm-5pm: Modeling the body of the teapot and the lid
Day 2 - Sunday, 24th September
- 10am-1pm: Finishing of the cups (handles, etc.)
- 2pm-5pm: Assembling the spout and handles of the teapot - making of a tray if there is time left
For the lunch break we suggest a packed lunch.
The workshop will be held by Violaine Toth and hosted at the Studio Delta Pottery's studio, in via Rocciamelone 16/a, Turin.
The workshop will be held in English.
In order for the booking to be successful, it is necessary to purchase the course.
If the workshop does not reach the minimum number of 6 participants by the registering deadline the 31th of August, it will be cancelled and the fee will be fully refunded.

Price €310 including: black stoneware clay, glazes, 2 firings, coffee break.
Shipping not included.
Anna from Studio Delta will take care of firing and glazing with clear glaze the pieces produced during the workshop.
An additional glazing lesson can be booked with Anna to learn how to apply glazing. This lesson has an extra cost and will be calculated based on the number of pieces produced during the workshop.
The pieces will be delivered within approximately one month.
